1862-10-06 Trustee Committee Report on the communication of Gardener Spooner, 2021.004.045

The Comittee to whom was referred the letter of Wm. H. Spooner proposing to surrender his lease of the Green house & grounds appurtenant thereto & to relinquish his situation as official Gardener of Mt Auburn report that upon a full consideration of the subject - they are of opinion that it will be in the interest of the Corporation to accede to Mr Spooner's request_{so far as relates to his relinquishment of the office of gardener}and they therefore recommend that the Treasurer be authorized to cancel the lease, with Mr Spooner upon a full settle ment of all accounts [?] the Corporaton from Mr Spooner and a surrender by him in good order of the leased premises -

And they further recommend that the Office of Gardener be abolished and that the care and Superintendence of Lots be committed to the Superintendent in such manner & under such directions as the Trustees shall prescribe.
