Mr Southack as they have been informed was an orderly Sergeant in the 2d Mass.ts Regt in the Infantry -was wounded in the Arm & discharged. again enlisted in the 61st Massts Infantry & remained in Service until the Regiment was mustered out in July last. He has since then time been employed for a part of the time in the Office of the Adjutant Genl as Clerk, but has recently been discharged there being no further occasion for so larage a number of clerks. He is married and as he states has no property or means of Support The Committee feeling that a Soldier who has served so faithfully during the war & had been wound ed in such a manner as to disable him from returning to his former occupation that of a Pianto forte tuner, is more deserving of the consideration of the Trustees than any other person can be.
