The committee to whom was referred the amendment of By laws &c at the last meeting

Report

That the following alterations and additions be made in the By laws.

Article 3. After the words "Superintendents clerk" insert the words "and a gardener"

And after the last paragraph in Art 3 insert the following, "and neither the superintendent, gate keeper nor any other paid servant of the corporation, shall have any interest whatever in any work or materials furnished for the cemetery"

After Article 9.- Insert new article numberstyled in the title the word "Gatekeeper" add the words "and"Gardener - and? the article addrenumber all following Articles.

"The gardener under the direction of the superintendent shall take charge of and keep in repair the lots of such proprietors as may apply to him for that service, and on such terms as may be agreed on between the parties; he shall also keep for sale at some convenient place designated by the Trustees, shrubs, trees & flowers and be ready to furnish, plant or cultivate the same at his own expense, and for such price and remuneration as may be agreed on with the purchaser

Repeal vote on Article 12th

Art. 17 - Add at the end "And in case the body thus interred is removed from the cemetery, the right is thereby vacated[?], and no allowance is made by the corporation"

Art. 18. - After the first clause, insert "Upon the selection of a lot, the superintendent shall issue to the party intending to purchase, a certificate giving him a right to pay for the lot at any time within five days if the sale shall be approved by the committee on lots; otherwise the bargain for sale shall be void." - And after the words "Lots" at the top of page 22,of the Catalogue and Bylaws-insert "This rule is not to apply to heirs at law, devisees or trustees of a deceased person, or to a corporate body, in accordance with a provision of the Legislatture of Massachusetts bassed April 6th, 1859

Art. 19. - Add at the end -"

"Any person who shall be designated by any company, society or associate whether corporate or incorporate which may own a lot of three hundred feet or more in the cemetery, is authorized to represent such lot and vote at the meetings of the corporation."

"Lots of less than three hundred square feet may be represented in the same manner as other lots for all purposes not conflicting with the charter."

Art 22. - At top of page 2424 of the Catalogue and By laws,after the words "manner and," insert the words "except in catacombs made as hereafter described.

Page 24 of Catalogue and By laws. Insert a new by lawafter art. now 22.numbered 23 and after the subsequent number to correspond, thus

"Catacombs"

Art 24. Catacomb tombs may be constructed in such places and manner as shall be approved by the committee on lots, with the entrance doors above ground; but no bodies shall be placed in them except in single compartments made satisfactory to the superintendent and closed so as to be madehermetically tight with stone or brick and cement." Ad also at this endof Art now numbered 24, "All foundations of monuments and other structures shall be made satisfactory to the superintendent under the direction of the committee on lots"

Page 25 of Catalogue and By laws.At the end of the third line insert"containing three hundred feet and upwards" and in the fifth line after the word "dollars" insert "and of lots containing less than three hundred feet, on the payment of a sum not less than one hundred dollars." Art 28- add at the end "Police man will be always in attendance who shall prevent fast driving especially of return carriages, and who shall at all times preserve order in the cemetery

The committee further recommend that a printed notice be handed to all carriage drivers attending funerals to the following effect

"Drivers of carriages attending funerals are prohibited from fast driving at a rate faster than a walk either in or out, of the cemetery, under penalty of exclusion form the cemetery"
