The Committee to whom the resolutions recently adopted were referred with instructions to see what alterations in and amendments to the by laws are rendered necessary by the adoption of said resolutions, have considered the subject, and report the followng: -

Page 30. Art 3, of the printed code - Officers,- to Strike out in the 9thand 10th lines the words -

"And Superintendent's Clerk."

Art. 5 - Secretary - page 32 line 10 - instead of "tickets" insert "cards of admission"; and at the end of that sentence insert - "He shall, when requested, issue apermit to any proprietor to employ persons to work upon histheir lots, other than the Superintendent and his workmen; and suchwhich proprietor shall sign a written agreement to be responsible for all injury and damage done by the persons so employed to the grounds or property of the Corporation or any proprietor."

At the end of the paragraph, insert: - He shall keep a duplicate register of the interments in the Cemetery, togther with all the vouchers or orders of interment, properly filed."

Art 6. Treasurer. - Page 32, Art 6, line 2. insert "five thousand" instead "three thousand". Page 33 line 2 [te ?]. Instead of - "He shall collect dues and pay bills approved by the President, or by the chairman of any committee duly authorizing an expenditure" - insert the following: - "He shall collect all moneys that may be due to the Corporation, and pay all bills which shall be first approved by the President, or by the chairman of any committee duly authorizing an expenditure, or by the Secretary and the Superintendent, of Expenditures not otherwise provided for within their respective departments." After the end of the paragraph on p. 33, line 12, insert; - "He shall have an office at Mount Auburn, where he shall be in attendance at such times as the Committee on Finance shall order, either in person or by his Clerk, who shall be a person approved by the Committee on Finance, and for whose acts the Treasurer shall be responsible. He shall keep a time-table, in which shall be entered, in accordance with the report to be made to him by the Superintendent, the name of each laborer, the amount of labor performed, and the rate of wages; and, at the end of each month make and exhibit to the Committee on Finance a pay-roll, which shall contain the names of all the laborers employeed during that month, the amount of labor performed by each, and the wages paid therefor, duly receipted for by said laborers."

Superintendent. -

Page 33. Art. 7. Strike out 9thline - "and to pay their wages not otherwise provided for."

Page 34 - Strike out - from 18thline beginning with "also of all moneys" down to - "The compensation of the Super intendent" &c - and insert the following: =

"He shall have no charge or control of the receiving and disbursing of moneys of the Corporation. He shall, at the close of each week, render to the Treasurer, or his clerk, an accurate statement of the name of each laborer employed, the amount of labor performed, and the rate of wages to be paid. He shall enter in a book kept for the purpose every order for work of any kind upon a lot, or for mateirals to be furnished, which order shall specify, so far as may be, the work to be done, and the price therefor, and which shall be signed by the proprietor, or other person whom he shall be satisfied is authorized to gie the order. He shall keep a particular account of all work done by the corporation for proprietors, and report the same when finished immediately to the Treasurer.

Page 35, Art 8. - Superintendent's Clerk. - to be stricken out.

Page 35. Art 9. Gatekeeper - add at the end - and in the necessaryabsence of the Treasurer or his Clerk, he shall receive such burial fees as may be paid, and pass the same mmediately to the Treasurer or his clerk, on his return. "And shall perform such other duties as the Superintendent or other officer may require, without interference with his regular occupation."

? Art 10. "Gardener" - to be stricken out

Art. 28. "Collection and payment of money" - to be stricken out.

Insert the following new article, in place of Art 28.

"Work on Lots."

"No person other than the proper officers and servants of the Corporation shall be allowed to perform any work on any lot in the Cemetery without the written authority of the proprietor of such lot, and upon a permit to be issued in the following manner: -

Such proprietor shall apply to the Secretary for a permit, stating in his appication the work to be done, and the person whom he proposes to employ, and agreeing to be responsible for all injury and damage done by his workmen, wither to the grounds or other property of the Corporation, or of any proprietor. Thereupon, a permit shall be granted stating the facts contained in the application, and that such proprietor is responsible for the acts of those employed by him. All such work shall be done under the chargesupervision and control of the Superintendent. Nothing herein contained shall be held to prevent any proprietor from performing in person, any work on his own lot."
