H.B. MacKintosh Esq [?] Mt Auburn Cemtary [Corp?] Dear Sir Answering your favor of 21st the last on which I would propose to make an endowment [stand?] in the name of Col F.[T.?] [Dodge?] [?]. His number I do not know. I do not propose to make any endowment on the [lot?] further than regards the single interment of Mary S Dodge to whom I understand a headstone has been erected in thislot + whose interment therein I [?] on Jan 5th (I think) last. I understand from this letter that only the p.C. of the headstones is required -- Do you want to contract for a single Stone, the lot not being under p.C.?

If you object to taking a single grave, why not answer this direct, giving reasons?
