$1.50 per day -- probably -if on hand when ready to begin April 10 to 20 --can give work if makes himself satisfactory

Mars Hill Feb the 18^th^ 1883

To the Superintendent of Mt Auburn Cemetery. I thought that I drop you a line for a chance to work next summer I worked in Mt Auburn 8 years ago I would like to come up & work for the corporation next summer if you can give me a chance I will take a chance at most [any?] till haying if you wish me to I have got behind a little & I would like to work out a couple of years to make up for it. I would like to have you write me & tell what wages were last summer & what you think that will be likely
