Dear Sir:-

Your note is received. I have no doubt that the salvia
is the plant you have in mind, as there are a large number of them
used in the cemetery. It is not a shrub however, but an annual
plant that has to be set out each year. As it only blooms a
portion of the season, I hardly think that you would be satisfied
with that alone, and our practice is to set it out with a variety
of mixed plants so that there may be a continuation of blooms thr-
ought the season. Under ordinary circumstances if the contract
was made for plants in the Spruce avenue border only, there would
be from two to four salvias set out with the other plants, but of
course if you desired more of it your wish would be attended to
whenever the plant could be got. I am sorry that being only an
annual plant there is none of it to be seen here at present.
