S. T. Snow Esq

Dear Sir

I have an application for a lot next
to Mr. Bartlett's on Halcyon Lake. The purchaser wants
a lot 25 feet deep but wants a promise that no land
shall be sold between his lot and the pond without his
having the first chance. I declined to make such a promise
unless the Trustees were willing to put it in the deed,

I thought it would complicate matters then too
much.

I believe however, that the pond would be far better,
if but one row of lots were sold around it. Mr Bartlett's
lot is 45 feet deep, while this purchaser wants but 25 feet
in depth. The land next to the pond, on account of the
slope is low, and would not sell readily I think, unless
lots are sold from the avenue to the pond, which would make
very large lots.

I suppose you will want this under perpetual Care of
Grass - Can you fix a price pr foot around the Lake?
I should be glad to hear soon, as the applicant wants to use
the lot. I should figure $1.00 pr foot. Yrs truly J. W. Lovering.
