My general idea has
been, (if a sufficient difference of
level should be found to exist,)
that one or 2 shallow cesspools
should be built in lowest part
of Spruce Ave., with a drain starting
from them at as high a level as
possible, and leading to the lowest point
in the "Chant Lot"; where there might
be built a large timber "vat" or "reservoir"
(see Doc. V.) as deep as the subterranean
level of water there will conveniently allow
and with the outlet of the drain in it
arranged as low as convenient, so as
to give all practicable fall to the drain.
