Dear Sir:

I have considered your question, on what terms, if any, I would transfer my notes, computations, etc. connected with your work.

I spend about $250 in indexing these notes for convenience of reference, and much time and expense have been saved to your Corporation thereby; but I have never asked or received any pay therefor. The original cost of the blank books and paper was a considerable sum.

I will transfer these notes, computations, etc. to your Corporation for the sume of $300, which I believe is an extremely liberal offer and clearly inside of what I might justly claim.

I believe a better arrangement for both parties can be made as follows:

1. Write on your section plans all dimen-

sions and all necessary diagona and tie lines of lots which may have been omitted.

2. Plot the survey base lines and stations with their reference points on to one of the lithographed plans of the cemetery stating all angles and distances in figures. I believe this would save time enough to pay for itself in a year or two, whether you have the note books or not, and whoever may do your surveying.

3. Make a set of partial section plans showing only the relative positions of the lots to the base lines and stations of our survey. Impracticable to put this on to present set of section plans without excessive crowding and confusion.

This will give you all my records about Mount Auburn which are of any value to you, and in a much more convenient form for reference than in my books and papers.

I estimate that this work can be done for $350.
