1870-03-05 Trustee Committee on Grounds: Purchase of Land West of Cemetery, 1831.033.003-026

To the Trustees of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn, or proprietors

The undersigned, proprietors of lots on, and within vicinity of Elm Avenue, and on the Southwesterly side of the Cemetery, respectfully represent,

That at the time of the purchase of their respective lots they were informed that it was the intention of the corporation to buy the land adjacent to the Cemetery, on that side, and that Said information was an inducement to them to select lots on that side, that they are informed the Said land can be bought at this time on laudable terms, and they believe that the best interests of the Corporation will be promoted by some action thereon at the present time.

Wherefore, they respectfully petition the [proper?]

Authorities of the Cemetery to take action in regard to Said purchase at this time.
