The Comm on Grounds Report that an apparatus for heating the Chapel has been completed, and is now in successful [up..?] at Mount Auburn --
A large furnace is placed under ground near the bottom of the bank at on the North side of the Chapel. It has a temporary chimney of [sleet? ev..?] which can be removed in summer and which [?] smoke perfectly. A cylindrical air pipe anchored in a square [back?] flue but not touching it, extends obliquely upward and southward and discharges it [an? duly?] heated through a large circular register

It is expected to be fully sufficient for the object for which it is intended The committee recommend, as an [effort?] for the expense of constructing and maintaining the apparatus that a charge of $10.00 be made to all parties on whose account the Chapel may be ordered to be heated
