The Committee on Grounds report, that it is expedient that the following described spaces within the Cemetery of Mount Auburn be forever kept open, and that no interments be ever made, nor buildings nor monuments of any description be erected thereon

1.st -- The space near the front gate or entrance, bounded as follows. -- Beginning at a point in the front fence thirty feet west of the western stone obelisk, thence running at right angles with said fence in a southerly direction to the southerly easterly side of Pine avenue, being about fifty five feet, thence easterly in a line parallel to said fence, until it intersects a line drawn from a point in said fence thirty feet east of the eastern stone obelisk, and thence in a straight line to the place of beginning

2.d -- A space or passage way twenty feet wide on the east, north and west sides of the Chapel; the said twenty feet to be measured from the outer face of the stone buttresses

4.th All that space in front of the Chapel bounded by Chapel, Pine and Cypress avenues and Peony path, as now laid out

5.th The whole adjacent to and surrounding the Tower, now enclosed by the circular or oval part of Mountain avenue.

6.th All the space included within the stone curbs of Auburn lake, (Forest pond, and Consecration pond together with the avenues or paths surrounding and next adjacent to the said curbs, also all land between said avenues or paths and said curbs not exceeding thirty feet in width

7.th All the land included within the circular part of Lawn avenue and which is not more than ninety feet from the fountain now in the central part of the Lawn --

And the committee recommend that such conveyances be made as shall secure the said objects, and shall prevent interments, or the erection of new buildings or monuments on the said [deemed?] spaces, or their appropriation to any other uses than those hitherto allowed

And the committee recommend that the said conveyances together with suitable plans of the said spaces to be forever kept open, be entered on the records of the Corporation. --- And they who recommend that plans of the said spaces be entered on the large sectioned spaces plans maps now in process of being made by Messrs [Shad & Edison?].

And they also recommend that the the situation of all drains, water pipes, sesspools, reservoirs, water locks and gates, be carefully laid down on said sectioned maps
