1884-05-07 Letter from Superintendent Lovering to Cemetery Secretary, 1831.018.004-033

[Oval office stamp: MT. AUBURN CEMETERY 16 PEMBERTON SQ. BOSTON. MAY 8 1884]

[Letterhead: Superintendent Mount Auburn Cemetery]

OFFICE OF SUPERINTENDENT MT. AUBURN CEMETERY, CAMBRIDGE, May 7th/ 1884.

P.O. CAMBRIDGE, MASS.

Dear Mr Secretary

Fifty dollars would provide for the care of the headstone now on the Dennis Lot, but as it is proposed to make two interments when the title is settled I suppose there are likely to be two more added.

If you see the parties you may be able to ascertain, and if more are to be put up like the one now there I should say ($50) fifty dollars apiece would provide for the care.

Yrs truly

J.W. Lovering Supt.
