Mount Auburn,

Dear Sir, the secretery informs me that, the prices of Lots in the Cemetery, were raised on the 6th inst and requests me to furnish the Committee on lots a list of persons, who have in any way acquired a right to take lots at the old rates.

I reported to the Treasurer last Saturday, with the approval of the committee on Lots, those that were actually taken previous to march 6th.

There are a few others, who have spoken to me for lots, and three or four, for additions.

We, now have twenty five bodies in the receiving tombs, a majority of which were placed there with reference to taking lots at the opening of spring, I am not able to give the names of persons who will take these lots now, as the bonds were signed by persons owning lots agreeable to the rules of the Cemetery, and of course the lots will be taken by persons, interested and made known to the superintendent at the time of their selection.

Would it not be well to give public notice

of the advance price of lots, and allow a limited time to persons having bodies in the receiving tombs to take their lots at the old rates, say untill the first of May; this would have a tendency to hasten the clearing of the tombs, and give satisfaction to those placed in circumstances requiring them to take lots immediately.
