To the Honourable the Judges of the District of Court of Albemarle The petion of Sarah Colley Cloe Evins Charles Henry Evans Louisa Evans Salley Evans Mary Ann Evans Black people humbly shewith that they are held in slavery by a certain Edward Easter of the County of Albemarle which they [presume] to be contrary to the Laws of this Commonwealth to be relieved from the oppression & restored to the Enjoyment of their rights they have thought fit to make application to this Court & humbly pray that they may be [suffered] on account of their situation of poverty which [illegible] them from pro senting [illegible] to appear in forma pauperis and that your honours will assign them Counsel

to conduct their Cause & being thier complaint [illegible] the Court & that your honours will order [illegible] necessary steps as be taken in their behalf & your Petitioners shall ever pray &c.

Aplo 1792. having examined the pretentions of the within named Sarah Cloe Charles Henry Louisa Salley and Mary Ann to their Liberty we are of the opinion if they can support the facts states to us, shal under the Laws of this Commonwealth they will be entitled to their Freedom.
