Meat Scallop 1 small loaf of bread crumbed up without crusts. 1 layer of choped ^cooked meat in small baison well buttered 1 " " brown gravy. " " " bread crumbs. a few dashes of salt and pepper and small specks of butter.
Alternate layers of this - season the meat before useing. For top layer use cracker crumbs instead of bread crumbs and put small specks of butter on top. Bake in a moderate hot oven. Cover until a few minutes before taking out then uncover and let it get a delicate brown on top.
Muffens. 1 3/4 pints of flour. 2 1/2 teaspoon fulls of soda. 1 level teaspoon of salt. 2 round tablespoons butter melted. 1 egg. 1 pint milk.
Bake in a quick oven 20 to 25 minutes.
