March
Monday 30th the first part
of the day very cold but
very pleasant in the after
part of the day took a walk
down to the ferry and at the
rail road our waggons
returned to day from berryville
our Reg arrived at Berryville
on Sunday morning they sleep
out on the ground on Saterday
night poor fellows I visited
Major Fatze of the 8th Reg
he is very Gentlemany in his
maners had an introduction
to Col Denison the Bottle
was set out but respectfully
declined by the grace of god
asisting me I doe not
intend to partake of their
evil deeds thank god for
his goodness to me I am well
except som head ache
