March
Tuesday 24 our Reg returned
to day from winchester they
sleep in the woods on the
ground last night I was
glad to See them they stood
the march very well Lieu
grant his Son and servant
are in my quarters and will
remain with me until our
Reg 5 is perminently fight as
we doe not know what they
will doe with us

Wensday 25 very warm
and pleasant wrote home
walked down to the quarters
of the band Lieu grant
and I walked down to the
rail Road after dinner
Col Horn in my quarters
this afternoon had a large
turn out on dress parade
made the finest appearance
that I ever saw the Reg make
Col Webster of the 7th the gen
staff and a number of other
officers was preasant have the
rheumatism bad in my hip
