March

Monday 16 this day is pleasant
but very dull visited the hospital
distributed some tracts herd that
our Reg had arrived at winchester
was with the quarter master a long
time to day received a letter
from my son Thos & daught Mary wrote to them
to night The Gen was cerinated
by a brass band to night am
in good health for which I feal thankfull

Tuesday 17 St Patrick day warm
and pleasant very muddy herd
from the Reg they are in winchester
quartered in houses very
lonely here since the Reg
left wrote home to my
family dont know when
we will move expect the
waggons back to day was
at the 8th Reg to day visited
Capt Ireland Co A Saw
nat Lynch Reported George
Taylor Drummer boy to the
Hospital as sick removed
him this evening to the Hospital
I am in good health
