Untranscribed 1862

Sunday 23 day cold and
windy I had a meeting of
the drummer boys this
morning. Nine of them present
I think I can see some little
improvement Preached to day
standing on one foot Woke
up this morning with a severe
pain in my left foot could
scarcely put it to the floor
I doe not know that I have
ever had a more acute
pain in my life painful all
day and no better to night it
was with the greatest difficulty
I could get to my Preaching
place. I preached from
John 9 & 35. Very few out to
hear the word made arrangements
for the observing of Thursday as
a day of thanksgiving and prayer
as set apart by the
the governor of the state of MD
