I have also remarked that the male sex are far more apt to reason falsely than are women and the reason is that men have all picked up various stray bits of logic and try to be logical, while women leave their thoughts to their own instinctive development.

Let us profit by this remark in considering the other fallacy about reasoning.
Logic and ethics are closely allied in more ways than one.
Logical thought is thought self controlled.
When we draw a conclusion, that conclusion is irresistible at the instant we draw ot.
This is the parallel to the necessity which seems to govern every act at the instant that it is performed.
But just as our moral reflexions produce a body of ideals which constitutes our synderesis, and which will indirectly
