That which by its presence imparts truth to the known and power to the knower you may say is the idea of the good being the cause of science and of truth as known both things fine knowledge and truth you will rightly deem this other finer than either. 508E And further for all things known not only is the knowledge due to the good but their very being and essecence are due to it yet the good is not essence but far exceed essence in authority and power. 509B.
