147Classification of the Sci setting forth the ideas that burn within one, but in gaining a hold upon ideas that elude one. It is the spirit of curiosity and investigation, the love of truth, the desire to learn. In reviewing this list of twelve instincts we remark a cross-classification among them which was not intended in drawing up the list. Namely, they fall into four groups, the General instincts, the Sensual instincts, the Strenuous instincts, and the Elevated instincts. The general instincts are the Health-instinct, the Morals-instinct, and the Fitting-instinct. The sensual instincts are the Food-Instinct, the Magic-instinct, and the Dress-instinct. The strenuous instincts are the Grab-instinct, the War-instinct, and the Preach-instinct. The elevated instincts are the House-instinct, the Pet-instinct, and the Peek-instinct.
