These categories of purpose must be categories of every system of rational classification. Thus universal categories of natural classification will be ascertainable by the analysis of logic.

But it would be imprudent needlessly to trust to a single strand of reasoning to support such a conclusion as this. If there be any universal categories of natural classification there are two other fields besides logical analysis in which they ought to crop out.
