Israel, [?] are our People, descended from the same stock, in whose Peace we shall have Peace: + from a Principle of Love to G, for [?] are his Cities yt we are fighting in the Defence of." - It may have to be noted yt-[?] Amonites were [?] in Injuring Israel, + yy were [?] in raising forces to defend + justify [?]selves in it. It ergo became a Duty for Israel to defend yr People, y Child of G; yr Religion, yr precious + vluable Constitutions, yr Lives, Families, yr Children, yr Estates, yr Property, yr All. - And viewing yr Cause as just, yy resolved to defend it, at All Events, Sword in Hand, to ye utmost of yr Ability; and in ye Way of Duty, piously to leave ye Events with God: The Lord do yt wh seemeth him Good. - From all wh we may gather this general Truth: Viz. That yr Case may be so circumstanced with a People; as to be an incumbent Duty for ym to rise up, and Unite in ye Defence of yr Country, + Relign, Sword in Hand, trusting in G to succeed + prosper ym. Here Note a few Things. As I. When ye Case may call a People to such a Defence as is here spoken of. II. The Principles & Motvilse yt should engage you in such an Alarming Duty III. How G is to be relied on, for success, or this Manner of leaving ye Issue, + Event with G.
