Went to Elkton in morning to see Mr Torbert - Note at 60 days - paid John A Johson for Danl J $11.83 paid E. Brown Jr $1.24 H.J. Scar borough paid $10. Flounder $6. W. Scarborough $2. Hauled in hay went after axles to Warburtons
11 Worked in shop - Rain - got pig of Mr Burke $1 - paid Amos 50 cts for mowing.
12 Mr Helmbold disappointed in preaching - wrote a letter to Lib(?)
13 Cool in morning - made peach (__) V. went to Sassafras Neck
14 Frost - Harriet brought mother & Si(__) & Mary - Broke down -

Cool in morning - At work in shop - burned out Kiln
16 Pleasant - Mr. Burke sowing wheat. Wardle brought up carriage for repair - Milly drying peaches.
17 Cool - worked in shop - Rachel came in evening with little Jane.
18 Worked in shop in morning Went to Elkton in afternoon with Jona & family on their way to Del. Took supper with mother. Martha came with me
19 Sunday Took dinner with Miss Billington Martha went to Union Mr Price & Mr & Mrs Burke here

Monday Sept 20th 1852
Went in morning to Cherry Hill for screws and got none Went to Elkton with Saml Hanna. Sent letter to Danl J. -- Bought (__) & Mexican Guano from D Parker @ $26.80 per ton - paid 50 cts freight and gave note at 6 months with interest - Short hauled it up -- Went to Marley and bargained with W.G. Carter for wagon $70. to be made like Leas(?) tire 1 3/4 by 3/4 -- Martha & Rachel went home and Siney came up.
21 Worked in shop at wagon for Fitzsimmons - Siney C. here
22 John took Milly & Siney to Elkton - I worked in shop -

Sept 28th 1852
Worked in shop - Mr Wilson called. Took Thos Fitzsimmons wagon home and got paid in full $60.
29 Went to Elkton in morning received a letter from D.J. Went in car to Port Deposit visited new foundry - Took supper at Havre de grace with Henry Foster. came on to Elkton and stayed with mother all night
30 Pleasant dry weather. Settled with J. S. Purnell and paid him $7.53 in full $4. of it for New Leeds School paid J.G. Wilson $ on acct. He returned home to day - wishes me to sell his property about 80 acres per $2500.
