Augt 13th 1852 Cool in morning - Commenced at trimming carriage - Todd at work on road -

14 Worked at carriage in morning reparied thresher for Vansant. Measured Mason work of Hosue & porches at Marly for W.G. Carter and George Rambo. - 646 perches.

--- 15 Sunday -- Pleasant - Took dinner at Mr Price's Mr & Mrs Morris there - Went part of the way home with them, and just got home before rain.

16 Worked in shop in morning Warm day - In afternoon repaired cider mill for Jesse H. Hugh W. Brought Lou home and took Miss Steadmen (__) I called at night to see John Scar borough sick of slow fever.

17th Augt Rained all day - Early peaches getting ripe - Tomatoes are be ginning to get ripe.

18 At work in shop - went to Elkton in morning - sent letter to Susan Tyson - called to see mother - D.J's family getting well. Lizzie Wilson here all night. John Mackey called for lobelia(?) -

19 Warm - Benj Miller at work on road - Worked at Mearn's carriage - Sale of Burgoyne Farm

20 Went to Scott's - Got $1.50 stuff from Addison - Dysentery very prevalent in that neighborhood. paid Wm Gelmon $2 in full John R. Hogg put in (__) iron paid him $1. Very warm Wilhemina Campbell came home

22 Sunday - Rain all day - Lizzie Wilson here - A very quiet day -

23 Warm & rain - My birthday John Donnelly called to see about school V. went down Country. Heard of the death of Mr Rickett on Saturday last

24 Warm and liker(?) for rain John Donnely went home to return and take school on Monday week -- Amos Webster cleaning out meeting house yard - paid H F $10.22 for Burnite.

Worked in shop in morning In afternoon went to Elkton with Jon Lane & Jos. Price. Took mother a basket of peaches Saw Mr Partridge about law. Walked home - very warm

---26-- Warm - Milly went to Henrys I went in afternoon to help. David Fulton moved carriage House -. V. came home from Sassafras Creek.

---27-- Warm - Cloudy & rain Worked in shop - Milly went to Mr Morris's with V. Frank took drill to brothers

25 Rain--Rain--rain all day long -heaviest rain this season and high wind -- more cool.

Clear & cool - Camp meeting at Hodson's - called to see John T Scarborough still confined with slow fever - Wm W Simpers lying ill of disease of the throat

---30-- Cool & pleasant - went in morning at making fence around potatoes they show some signs of rot. Anniversary of our wed ding - Lizzie Wilson here to celebrate it. Jona at camp

31 Pleasant - Worked in shop Jesse H. S. here paid me $5- Mr Morris was well of sore throat Put Lizzie Ws name on trunk with brass nails - Mr Price treading oats.
