July 6th 1852 Foggy in morning and warm - Dry weather Mrs Wilson & Joseph came here Appearance of storm but very little rain - Wheat har vest.

7th Took wheels to Cherry Hill Warm - Mrs Wilson & Joseph came up to see us. Went to see John W Simpers Took a drink out of the old spring - Where I was brought and where my friends so lately dwelt is now the homes of strangers

8th Worked in shop - weather very hot. V cutting his wheat at Davison's.

9 Still warm - Went to Elkton and got 2 axles 3 posts & 2 (__)

scantling 10 fot longs 4 by 2 1/2 from Walmsley - boxes for 2 wheels from Heckendorn 72 ch -- 1 gall oil -- 10 Saturday Warm worked at making carriage lock for Jos. Miller. Milly & sister went to see Sister Mary -- Some wheat is still uncut -- Hyland Price came up from Sassafras Brick. Heard yesterday of the illness of brother Danl daughter said

Sunday 11 Warm -- very dry weather. a small shower of rain Mr. McIntire did not come to New Leeds as appointed. Joseph Wilson went home 12 Exceedingly hot - Thunder and appearance of rain but little fell.

July 13th 1852 Heavy rain to day which as much wanted -

14 Corn is growing finely. Much wheat out in the field; and that which is late is stuck with the rest(?) -- Received a letter from Danl J. - He thinks his daugh ter is recovering -

15. Took Milly and her sister Ann to Mr. Owens' -- Called to see Mrs Kirk -- the old lady is in her 78th year. Went by the Brick Meeting house. Milly & Anne were in their old neighborhood and had to relate many reminiscences of the past. The saw many changes within a few years

went to Miss Kirks after Carpet - paid Hannah for 26 yds weaving @ 12 1/2 -- $3.25 and 4 cts for (__) to filling -

Came to Mr Owens about 1 Oclock -- Called to see Mrs Harlan - She looks much emaciated, and I fear is laboring under an incura ble malady. There was a lady she from Phila. Miss Thompson.

--- 16 -- Pleasant day - worked at wagon for John W Simpers (__) Mr. Burk brought me 10 bushels stone coal from N. E. raining to night.

--- 17 -- Cloudy and some rain - Jonathan sick - Wm Warburton took mother home with him Robt McCawley came up from Elkton. Much wheat still

Sunday July 18th 1852 A pleasant day, but warm. Took dinner at Mr Prices with Mrs Wilson - Heard Mr. Helmbold preach in the afternoon.

19 Warm - Worked in shop at J W Simpers wagon - Jonathan sick - Mrs Wilson & Mrs Price here for dinner.

20 Warm - Jona still unable to work. Rachel sowed his buckwheat Oats nearly ripe -

21 Warm - Rachel helped me to mow. John cut his foot - (_)ekingtons moved away. Jona still sick.

22 Very warm - V.cutting his oats - Mr Burke went with barrels - John W Simpers took away his wagon.
