Friday, September 27, 1918
A good day. We are at Letchers. We eat dinner here and then went to see Elender Bennett and Ola Jefferson. I gathered some apple blossoms this morning.
The men here cut tobacco to night. They are getting some honey ready for me to take home. Letcher has bin complaining today.
Wednesday, October 30, 1918
A cloudy day and the wind is blowin to night.
Ben and Owen sawed logs to carry to the saw mill. The rest of us stripped tobacco all day. Josie got dinner. Mr Lowel Witcher come and eat dinner with us. Henry Blair come and looked at the tobacco.
Ben and Josie and Paul and Owen put tobacco in the pit tonight. Henry is complaining of a sore throat to night.
It is raining to night hope it will quit soon.
8 30 oclock
Ben put shoes on Mr Bailiss's horse to day.
Saturday, November 2, 1918
A good day. Ben and Marvin has hauled logs and lumber all day today. Mr Owen and Paul shucked some corn this morning. This evening they put a load of tobacco on the waggons. William Gilbert helped them.
Josie sewed some. I got dinner except making the bread. Josie made that.
Late this evening I went to Carries. She was bathing the children and complaining of the toothache. We heard this evening that Mr Eujean Shelton died this morning.
To night Ben and Owen and Paul went to the barn to put on a load of tobacco. They intend going to Gretna Monday.

Thursday, November 28, 1918
A very rainy day. Miss Janie and the children went to school. Ben has bin complaining all day. He hitched the horses to the waggon and started to meet the children met them nearly at home.
Virginia Harvey come with Janie home.
Mrs Carr has bin sick all day. Josie got supper . She cooked a chicken and made cocoanut pies. They were fine. I have set by the fire more than common to day and have enjoyed it. I have had a very good fire tonight for which I am glad.
This is the night of Thanks Giving day.

Friday, December 13, 1918
A cloudy day. Ben has bin complaining all day.
Mr Owen and Marvin and William Gilbert killed two hogs for Ben this evening.
Josie got dinner. I cleaned up the smoke house then I took he fat off the intrils and cleaned the feet of the hogs.
Ben carried Miss Janie home and got Mr Jim Emersons tining tools. He wants to cover Owens house soon.
Henry and Edna went to school to day. Floyd Reynolds come by here this evening and got a few eggs. He was on his bycicle. I feel like I know he broke them.
