A cloudy day most of the time. Snow melted some all day. We all staid at Home all day except Ben. He went to Mr Bookers a little while. Johnson Reynols come this morning and staid a while. I got dinner except the bread Josie made that. I killed and cooked a chicken and baked a molasses pudding. Josie washed the dishes after Dinner. I wrote Carrie a letter to day. Oh how I miss them. I would like so much to know how all of my children are getting on in this bad spell but cant know.

A rainy day. We all staid at home. I got dinner. Cooked meat & turnip greens and a chicken & stewed prunes. Josie had a cake baked. Josie is feeling mighty bad today. I said we all staid at home. I forgot Henry went home with Hugh Brumfield. Jim did not come home. Wilson Starkey got stuck in the mud near the house. Ben went & helped him get out. I wrote two letters today. One to Carrie & one to Julia Fergerson. Wish I could see them.
