A cloudy day. Jim & Ben plowed all day. Owen went to Long Island. Carried his calf.

Bessie Callands (col) come here this morning to work. I hope she may stay and be some help to us.

Josie got the dinner.

I washed a little this evening.

I went to Johnson Reynolds. While I was gone Miss Smith and Miss Carter and Janey Gravely stopped to see Josie and the baby. I would liked to have seen them but they did not come to see me.

Tonight Ben & Willie Mayhew has gone hunting.

A cloudy day. Ben and Owen plowed. Jim dug potatoes.

Josie got the dinner. She cooked dried beans. The first this fall.

I went to Kate Harveys. Charle was at home fixin up a grind stone.

Edwin Mayhew is boardin there. I went in the store for the first time since Mayhew has bin there.

Carrie & the children was here a while this evening.

Ben & Jim has gone hunting.

A clody day and it is raining tonight. Jim is in Chatham. Ben sowed some wheat and oats today. Mr. Owen stripped tobacco today.

Josie got dinner. We picked up the potatoes this morning and Ben hauled them home this evening.

Bessie Callens (col) washed some & ironed. Anna Callens come to see a bout Bess being here. She let her stay.

I had thought that I would start to Richmond in the morning but it is raining so that I doubt it now.

Ben & Henry & Lucious Gravely went hunting tonight. Guess they will get wet.

A good day. Ben & Jim cut feed and sawed wood. I am glad that they got it done. Ben has gone hunting tonight. Jim went to bed. Josie went to Carries and carried her baby the first time it was out of the house.

Edna has nursed her doll most of the day.

Henry helped to cut feed and wood most of the day.

Cloudy this morning & some rain this evening. Jim hauled some wood this morning. Ben & Josie went to Strait Stone this morning. I churned and stayed with the baby. She did not cry while they were gone.

Josie got dinner. I went to George Blair. Got there as the men folks come from work. Denny was there. He had bin hunting all the morning.

Denia and I went to see Mrs. Allen. She is very feeble. Mrs. Kellie & Mrs. Strange was there. The narce is a nice lookin lady. They are having a time there then[?]
