A good day. No rain in sight. Ben & Jim worked on the tobacco this morning. This evening they went to the saw mill. Staid all the evening. They got their lumber.

Virginia went home this morning. Julia Brumfield went with her. Edna has gone to Mag Brumfields tonight. I miss her very much. Josie ironed some this morning & sewed this evening. I went to Marvins this evening. Reese and Henry spent most of their time playing in the branch. Marvin went with Ben & Jim to the saw mill. The land is so dry that suckers dont grow so the men are idle.

A good day. Some cloud about but no rain. Jim & Ben and Henry finished going over the tobacco by dinner. Today they hauled rocks & sand to work on the hearth in the dining room. Josie ironed today. I done something all the morning. This evening Reese carried Edna and I to Whitefalls to fish. I caught several. Edna and Reese staid at the car most of the time.

Josie put up six quarts of tomatoes. Mrs Car peeled the tomatoes. That was a big help.
