Thursday, November 7, 1918
A good day. Ben hauled lumber from the mill. He brough three loads. Josie sewed some to day. I went to George Blairs. There was no one at home but Denia. George had gone to Gretna with tobacco. The rest of them had gone to Max Creasys burial.
John Dalton was buried this evening. There is more sickness and deaths than I ever heard of in the same length of time. Heard today that Dick Wooding is very sick.
Tonight Ben and Josie has gone to Strait Stone for groceries.

Wednesday, September 17, 1919
A good day. Ben & Owen and Jim finished cutting corn.
Josie made Edna a dress and made some pickel of pears that she brought from her mothers orchard.
Marvin went to the saw mill twice today. Carrie washed some and ironed. William and Hattie Gilbert (col) picked peas.
I wrote Fannie Emerson a letter today. I went to Marvins this evening. Edna and Franklin went with me. We came by the orchard and picked up some apples.

Friday April 15, 1921
Cloudy most of the day but no rain. Jim worked in the garden most of the day. Ben went to the island for guano. Carried a log to the saw mill. Henry went with him. Josie got dinner and supper. She baked light rolls for supper. I ironed all the morning. Tonight John come to see us. I am glad that he come.

Jim has a very bad colde. I am sorry for him.
Saturday July 2, 1921
A hot dry day. Jim went to Chatham. Ben went to the saw mill and got lumber to cover the shelters at the barn. This evening he covered one and would of covered the other one but I ask him to fix the trough at the kitchen door. He did not want to do that but did it just the same. Josie got dinner. This evening she made her a waist. Hugh Brumfield come here this evening.
Julia & Henry, Edna, Franklin are all up stairs makeing so much fuss that I shall not go to bed until they stop.

Wednesday July 27, 1921
A good day. No rain in sight. Ben & Jim worked on the tobacco this morning. This evening they went to the saw mill. Staid all the evening. They got their lumber.
Virginia went home this morning. Julia Brumfield went with her. Edna has gone to Mag Brumfields tonight. I miss her very much. Josie ironed some this morning & sewed this evening. I went to Marvins this evening. Reese and Henry spent most of their time playing in the branch. Marvin went with Ben & Jim to the saw mill. The land is so dry that suckers dont grow so the men are idle.
