A good morning. Rain this evening. Jim & Henry suckered tobacco all day.
Ben went to Chatham. John & Edwin and Christenia went and Kate Harvey. John gave them all dinner at the hotel. Kate & Ben was in the rain comeing home. Josie ironed some. We both got dinner. I caned five cans of tomatoes.
Edna and Franklin went to George Blairs. Josie got uneasy a bout them, a fraid they would be in a hard cloud but they got home before it rained.
I thought that Julia Fergerson would come but she did not. Don't know what is the matter.

Friday July 8, 1921
A good morning. There was colouds a round this evening. Very little rain here. We need rain very bad.
Ben & Jim worked in Jims tobacco today. John & Edwin Brumfield come today. John wanted to see Mr Layne a bout some land at Gretna.
Josie got dinner by her self. She had a good dinner. I washed some this morning and sewed on my quilt this evening.
Ben & Josie and Edna & Henry and Julia have all gone to Strait Stone tonight.
Saturday August 6, 1921
A good day. Ben & Jim worked on the house all day and did not get near all done that they want to do. Josie ironed some. Mrs Car churned. I got dinner.
Mrs Butcher & Mrs Dalton come a while. I was glad to see them. Mrs Butcher looks well and young for her. John & Edwin come this evening. I am glad to see them. Heard today that Jack Harvey is on his way home. He is sick. I am sorry for his mother and him. Heard today that Rorner James died this morning. There is several that dont care if he is dead.
Sunday August 7, 1921
A good day and a busy day. John and Edwin was here. Mrs Car was here.
Rob Hubbard & Ella and three children and Mr Ran & wife come. Mr Ran went to Rufus Cars and Rufus come here with him. I was glad for them to come to see Ben and Josie. Ben carried Mrs Car home this evening. I am always glad for Mrs Car to stay with Josie.
Ben & Jim had a few water mellons. I think all of them enjoyed them.
Monday August 8, 1921
A good day. A little rain this morning. John & Edwin went from here this mornin. Ben & Jim worked on the floor all day. Ben went for cement late this evening. Josie went with him. The children staid at Marvins. I went to George Blairs this evening. They had a lot of company.
Lettie & her children was there. Mrs Anderson & Maud and Lizzie, Sallie Blair, Letcher and Ernest Craddock. Tim and Lizzie Bennett come by on their way home from the Red House.
Georges folks had plenty of water mellons. They had a nice supper ready. I don't know how many eat. I had to come home.
