A good day. Ben carried Nellie & Evylin to Gretna this morning. He got back home at 10:20 oclock. They have cut tobacco this evening.
Josie sewed today. She two gowns then gathered some snaps for dinner tomorrow.
Marvin finished cutting tobacco today.
I went to Marvins this evening. Carrie sent Henry some papers to read. He now has one reading. I am going to put out the light as he will have to work tomorrow. Will need all the sleep he can get.
I got a letter from Elsie East this evening. Was glad to hear from her.

Friday, August 29, 1919
Cloudy most of the day but no rain. Ben & Owen moved tobacco this morning and cut this evening. Jim staid at the barn. Is there now.
Josie sewed most all day. This evening Mag Brumfield and Doris & Janie and little Charley come to see us. Rees Smith carried his mother to Strait Stone this evening.
I got a letter from Evylin this evening. I am always glad to hear from any of the kindsfolks.

Tuesday, December 30, 1919
A very windy morning but a good evening. Jim & Nellie and Evylin Brumfield came last night a bout nine oclock. Ben & the girls come home this morning at half passed four We were all at home at dinner Today we had a nice turkey for dinner it was Josies turkey. And mince pie & cakes and custard
This evening Jim hunted with Marvin a while then they set a plant bed on fire.
Ben & Evylin & Thelma & Mary and Charley & Virginia Harvey went to Jim Powers to a dance. Josie did not go on account of the little baby The baby has bin better today than she was yesterday Jim has gone to the store tonight.

Friday February 18, 1921
A good day. Ben [and] Jim hauled feed and a load of corn today. Ben went to Gretna this evening to meet Nellie & Evylin. I went with him. We carried 12 hens and 7 doz eggs. We bought several things. I am glad that Nell & Evylin come.
Henry & Edna went to school. Carrie come a few minutes this evening. I did not see her. Would like to see them all but cant tell when that will be. May not ever see them a gain but hope I will.
Saturday February 19, 1921
A bad evening. Hail and rain. Jim & Ben cut stalks for feed this morning. Henry helped them. Josie got dinner. I boiled some meat at the wash house and burnt some bre[ad?]. Evlyn made some candy and poped some corn. The children is foolish a bout Evylin. She is good to play with them. Ben & Jim put some tobacco in the pit after it commenced to rain.
Marvin come a while this evening. Josie got supper tonight. Nellie and Evylin washed dishes to night.
