A good day. Mr. Owen sowed wheat. Jim & Ben went to Chatham. Lucius Graveley went with them.
Josie and I got a snack for dinner.
Henry and I went with Bessie Callan (col) to Mr Stones then went to White Falls. We fished a while. Caught 25 fish.
Edna swept the yard some. I helped her get up the leaves.
Carrie & the children come a while this evening.
Fred Stone brought Bessie home. I paid him a dollar for it.

Saturday, November 1, 1919
A clody day and it is raining tonight. Jim is in Chatham. Ben sowed some wheat and oats today. Mr. Owen stripped tobacco today.
Josie got dinner. We picked up the potatoes this morning and Ben hauled them home this evening.
Bessie Callens (col) washed some & ironed. Anna Callens come to see a bout Bess being here. She let her stay.
I had thought that I would start to Richmond in the morning but it is raining so that I doubt it now.
Ben & Henry & Lucious Gravely went hunting tonight. Guess they will get wet.

It is lightning & thundering.
Wednesday, December 10, 1919
A cool day. To night is colde. Jim & Ben went to Chatham. Nellie come with them home. I am very glad that she come.
Mr Owens baby is sick. I do hope he may be better soon. Josie baked a fruit cake to day.
Mr Owens carried some chickens to Long Island this evening.
I was at Marvins a few minutes this evening.

Tuesday January 18, 1921
A clear colde day. The children went to school.
Jim and Ben was at Gretna. They staid all night at Chatham with Jims family. Come to Gretna and got breakfast and solde their tobacco & come home. They got home a bout dark.
Solde reasonably well I think.
Josie & I cut rags some today. Josie went to Marvins a little while this evening. Mabel was good to day for her to be.
Heard today that Mrs Jack Kellie was buried Saturday. I guess she will be very much missed. I found Henrys knife and 5 cts in the shucks. I have not tolde him yet.
Ben gave me a pair of overshoes to night.

Thursday February 3, 1921
A beautiful day. Ben and Josie got up at three oclock in the morning and dressed and started for Charlottesville. They got to Gretna in time to take the train. Jim staid all night at Chatham and come to Gretna and solde a load of tobacco. He got back home a bout dark. He was very well pleased with what his tobacco brought. Henry went to school. The rest of the children done as well as could be expected. Franklin was sick the most of the day. Mabel staid up tonight until after nine oclock.
They are all abed now and a sleep but Edna.
