A good morning. Rain this evening. Ben helped thrash wheat until twelve oclock then went with Tom Edmons to Chatham.

Reese and Henry and I went to White Falls. When the cloud came up we stopped at Jim Thompsons found them all well. Jim gave me ice to make cream.

Well I am a sleep.

A good day. The men folks topped tobacco. Josie ironed most of the day.

This evening Paul carried Henry and Edna and Reese and I to White Falls to fish. We did not catch many fish. We walked up by Mr Johnsons house. Mrs Johnson was very nice to us. Marvin come after us. Carrie and all the children come with him. We had a pleasant evening.

We got home in good time to milk and feed the hogs. Josie had corn batter bread for supper and we did enjoy it.

A good day. Ben and Owen cut corn and the children helped some. Josie ironed and baked a cake. I went to White Falls. Grace went with me. We drove Prince. We caught several fish. Stopped at Mount Airy a while. Kate thinks I am awful a bout going fishing. I know it is foolish but I cant help but want to go.

I try to pay for all my trouble. I work all I am able and not all for my self. I try to not disgrace them in any way but I know that some of the children are ashamed of me.
