A very bad day. Rained a bout all day. Some fox hunters come by here this morning. They hunted all the morning. I don't know a bout there catching anything or not. I guess they got wet.

Jim & Ben and Owen and Marvin all played cards this evening a while.

The boys fix up the olde cotton gin and gined some cotton. I had intended going to Richmond to morrow but will not go. It has rained so much that we could hardly get to the depo.

I comenced a cap for Josie that she intends to give to Ella Hubard. Josie is bad off with a colde.

A colde morning. Ice plenty by twelve. It was pleasant.

The men folks shucked some corn and hauled it up. Hauled the storks[sic] and cut them up.

Ben went to Renan after oil. Edna & Franklin went with him. Ben had a card from Josie. She was on her way to W Va. I hope she may have a good time. We certainly do miss her & will be so glad when she gets back.

A clear day and very colde for this time of the year. The men folks worked on their corn land all day.

Josie got some plant bed salit for the first time this year. She bake some ginger cakes this morning. Light bread this evening. I washed some today. Hived a swarm of bees this evening. They were so colde they could hardly fly.

I am a fraid that there will be a killing frost to night.
