Saturday, June 1, 1918
A good day. Ben and Owen & Paul Bennett plowed corn. Got done a while before night then went to Cedar Forest. Carried some beans & eggs. The men went bathing. Josie and the children went with them to the store. Josie milked and churned and got dinner. Ren Worsham carried Isla & Cordie Blair and I to Mr Jessie Worshams Mill Pond to fish. None of us caught any thing to keep. Cordie and Isla caught a fish a peice but did not get them out of the pond. Denia went to see Lottie Craddock to day. Frank and George went to Danville to night.

Ben and two of the children & Josie has gone to the School House to a play.
Thursday, July 25, 1918
A good day. Ben and Paul and Owen finished dobbing the barns. The Hutchersons finished thrashing wheat.
Josie got dinner and churned and milked night and morning.
I went with George and Denia and Ethel and Henry to Mr John Reynolds to see olde Mrs Blair. Shes very feeble. Isla come with us home. We had a good trip nothing happened to the car.
Henry brought me home. I hope I am thankful for all the kindness that is shown me.

Thursday, December 26, 1918
A good day. Ben worked on Owens house this morning.
This evening we all went to Lee Brumfields. They had a very nice dinner turkey and boiled ham cakes and pickles. Elsie East and Isla and Cordie Blair was there.
While we were away some one left some presents for Josie and I.
I got a pair of bed room slippers. John sent them. Paul Bennett sent me a box of nice candy and Grace Brumfield gave me a box of candy. I thank them both.

Friday, January 10, 1919
A clear cold day Ben and Jim worked on Owens house. Josie ironed some and got dinner. I sewed some. This evening I went to George Blairs. Denia & Isla was helping strip tobacco.
Cordie and Nettie was busy at the house. I bought two pounds of butter at 50 cts a pound and Denia gave me one pound.
I got a letter from Alma Bennett today.

Friday, January 24, 1919
A good day. The men folks finished stripping Owens tobacco this morning. They sawed a little wood this evening. I got dinner. Josie ironed this morning. Josie & Henry went to Strait Stone this evening.
Tonight Isla and Cordie & Frank and George Blair and Jessie and William Hutcherson all come and staid until bedtime. The boys played games. I finished Marys scarf tonight.
