A good day. The roads is very muddy. Ben hunted some today. He killed four rabbits gave two of them to William Gilbert.

Josie and I staid at home.

Kate and Irvin Harvey come and eat dinner with us. They drove Prince home and Irvin brought him home. I had a letter from John and Effie Brumfield.

Mary Brumfield sent me a book to write in the coming year. Hope I may be able to write in it. Dick Woodings folks gave a party to night.

The children had a good time to day playing with the things they got this morning.

I got several presents was glad of them.

Josie gathered a bunch of violets in the garden to day

Snow and rain this morning.

Ben worked on Owens house all day. Josie sewed some. I got dinner. Boiled hogs feet. This evening Franklin fell out of the window. It hurt him very bad not to brake any bones. There is a dance at Dick Woodings to night. Ben & Josie and Virginia and Irvin Harvey has all gone down there. 9 oclock

A clear colde day. Ben & Josie and Virginia come home this morning between two & three oclock. They said that they had a fine time at Woodings.

I got breakfast. Josie got dinner. She baked cocoa nut pies for dinner. Ben and Owen sawed some wood this evening. Virginia went home this evening.

Nearly all of Lee Brumfields people is sick. I feel so troubled a bout so much sickness.

A good day. Ben & Jim went to Mr Hutcherson. Woodings and got a pig then stripped tobacco a while then fixed to go to Chatham. Marvin went with them. They got some [logs?/dogs?] Ben & Tim Emerson went to Strait Stone to the lodge. They have just got home now.

I helped to strip tobacco nearly all day. Henry B & Luke and Norman Owen tied for me this evening. We had finished what was in the pit and was on our way to the house when Mr Jim Emerson & Sarah Emerson and two children come. I was glad to see them.

Josie got dinner. I heard this evening that Denia Blair is sick. I am very sorry to hear it. Hope she may get well soon. I want to go to see her soon.

A good day. The men folks moved some tobacco & cut some for Mr. Owen.

Jim & Ben will stay at the barn tonight. Henry is with Jim now. Edna is bad off with colde. Carries baby is not well.

Josie got dinner with a little help. Nellie caned some tomatoes this morning. This evening she went to Mr. Woodings and got some grapes. Miss Willie Wooding & Miss Annie Carter come with her home on a buggy.

I went to George Blairs. Lottie Craddock & her little baby is over there. Miss Alice Hubbard & Ada Hutcherson and Susie Hutcherson was there. They had water mellons & peaches and grapes.
