Cloudy all day & rain tonight. The men folks shucked some corn this morning & hauled up the stalks this evening.

Ben & Jim went to the Island. Jim went on to Chatham. Ben went to meet Josie. He phoned home that she had not come to Cedar Forest. He is down there somewhere now. Henry went to Marvins this evening. He come home & got in the wood for to night.

We fed the horses & cows & pigs and calves & chickens & dogs. Edna & Franklin has bad colds tonight and I am very sorry a bout it. Denia come to see me this evening. I was glad that she come but was sorry to see [her]go home in the rain.

I am so afraid that something bad has happened to Mrs Car or Josie or both.

A very rainy day. Ben & Jim got out a few peas this morning.

Josie sewed. Made Franklin some under waist and drawers and Edna a pair of drawers. I phoned to night to hear from Mrs. Edmons & Miss Alice Wooding. They are very sick yet. I want to go to see them soon.

A good day. Jim & Ben hauled up a little corn. Jim hauled some rails and made his hog pen larger, then they stripped tobacco. Mr. Owen finished a cureing to day.

Josie and I commenced to wash. Josie got sick and had to quit. I finished. They got dry. Josie ironed some this evening.

Johnson Reynolds passed here this evening at work on the phone line.

A good day. Ben & Jim stripped tobacco all day. I got dinner. Bessie the colored girl washed.

This evening Franklin & I went to Marvins. Carrie was washing. She finished while I was there.

We heard to night over the phone that Ludia Barnett was killed by a train today. That is so bad. Her folks will miss her so much.

Josie made Edna a cap and a box. Had good luck with both.

Clear this morning. Some rain tonight. Ben & Jim and Josie & the children all staid at home to day.

I went to see Kate Harvey this morning. I had not bin there long before they phoned me that Lizzie Bennett had come. I started home. I met Ben at Posies mail box with the car. Kate walked with me that far and then turned back. She would of come home with me but she was lookin for Dr Wigginton & Pearl.

Lizzie went to George Blairs and I went with her. I staid until 8 oclock. George Blair Junior brought me home. Isla come with me & went back with George. I thank them for their kindness.
