1869 April 30th Richard hilling his new ground
to day - quite cool & cloudy.

May 1st Opened Lugs & short Striped Raining this
morning & rained all night quite cool
stoped raining & we halled wood etc etc Still cloudy

2nd May Rained all night last night again & a
little cool fencing around cornfield
very wet & quite cool I shall not go to Mr Saml Millers to day
my Hogs with Pig Spayed by Mr Moses done well
this day windy & in evening very cool & wind NW

3rd Some front last night but none to hurt
very windy & Cool again to day putting up
shelter at old prize Barn hauled some leaves
in Stables on hill Picking up roots in new ground

4th Finished Hilling new ground up at Richard
Halling out manure, cloudy & likely for rain
quite cool yet corn coming up tolerable we-llll
Burning roots Hauled Load Leaves to my Stable

5 Raining this morning & weather moderate
our Irish Potatoes are coming up very badly
our Turkeys & Chickens are Dying
with some disease & have been 2 or 3 weeks
Pulled up Rye & cockle out of wheat this evening

6th Raining again this morning & has been more
or less ever Since 1st May took down & Bulk our
Lugs & short Tobacco & finished striping my Tobacco
got Richards to strip yet. cloudy & cool yet -

7th Still cloudy & cool will strip in Richards Barn
to day I expect to go to P.O. & old place Rained
some So unlikely that I did not go.

8th Sally H Whitehead had a Girl child named Nannielast night
about 9 oclock very likely & done well
Lowry went after mules etc that got out & went off
yesterday striping Tobacco to day all hands
clear & moderate weather this morning
Hauled some wood in evening I went to P.O. & old
place Mrs Furbush left this evening

9th I went to Meeting S S. Mr Glass & Plunket there

10th expect to work on road to day etc etc
Got home from road about 12 oclock picking
& burning roots in new ground & Lowry & Charles coltering
Richard choped some in Garden & Planted Some Greens
