follows.

To the officers & members of the congregation
B'nai Israel.

Resolved that in the death of brother Samuel
Lavenson, this congregation has been deprived
of a faithful, zealous and enlightened member,
and the community of a respected citizen,
an aimable courteous gentleman.

Resolved that while his well known and
noble traits of character will keep his memory
ever green in our hearts, his noblest memorial
will be the constancy of his friendship whnever
bestowed.

Resolved that we condole with the family
of the deceased in this their great bereavement
and humbly trust that "He who
tempers the wind to the shorn lamb"
will comfort the bereaved as none but He can.
Resolved, that this resolution be spread
upon the minutes of our congregation
and that a copy thereof, suitably engrossed
be presented to the family of the deceased.
