May 22, 1846 - June 4, 1846

1846 Waggon got Back & at night a very
May 22 hard rain indeed the Branch highest than I ever
saw it. 23rd Thining corn & Planting Tobacco on
Branch. 24, fine growing weather, very wet

25. Planting Second yrs ground Tobacco
also above granary on Branch & nearly
all the hills we have except lotts

26 Plowing in Corn, & in every
Beding Lotts for Tobacco, 27 Planting Tobacco
on Branch Plowing in corn

27 Preparing lot on Hill for Tobacco
& expect to Plant it To day —

28 Rained hard yesterday evening so
we Did not Plant Lot on Hill but
planted it this evening & also planted
watermellon seed —

29 Began to weed corn 28th in evening
this day come another very hard rain
ground too wet to do any thing
butfor us toeat - corn worth $5 pr Bbl.

30th Plowed but little this day & wed little wheat

31 Rained again very wet time indeed

June 1st Sheared sheep Rained in evening

2 Did not rain to day Plowing half
the day & replanted Tobacco —

3rd Plowing & weeding corn next to barn

4 Do Do & finished Plowing over on
time Plowed & works Greens etc to day
Mrs. Moseley up & expected here to day
good warm growing weather no rain since
Monday last.
