July 31, 1865 - August 3, 1865

1865 July 31st Rained nearly all night
Raining this morning. Lord make
us thankfull for thy mercies
Picking our wool to day 18
Rained tremendous hard & wind
from N.E. cloudy damp weather

Aug. 1st 1865. Sow ground over
plowed but corn not improved much
Plowed turnip patch, Picking
wool Henry sick yesterday &
last week some person killed
my lamb in the field
Mr. Hunts Estate negroes refused
to stay on plantation longer
than next Christmas

2nd. Henry sick yet. Little
Henry & Sally Ben cleaning
up on Far Branch, [A?]
gone to Mr. Hunts made
1 bus. corn carried & got 1 Bb.
corn offer Jacob @ $5 pbbl.

3rd. Cleaning up on Branch
Henry not out yet. Sewed
turnip patch after 12 oclock
warm day.
