Dear Friend I this day Recieved a Letter from you I was mighty Glad to hear from you. But when we left Orrange I was to Small to Remember you I am one of Fletcher C. Howette and Matilda E. Howette Sons. I am one of the younger Boys. My Name is Sam. Houston Howette. my Sister Susan is Still living _ She is living in this county Now. but has been living in Weston [illegible] as for 15. years before this year Bro Harry Howette is Dead he died Feb. 28th 1868. Bro [illegible] Died Feb 5th 1883 and my Father Died March the 18th 1868. There is but two of us Now living. I think I shall come down to Orrange before long as we have a land interest down there and we expect to have what belongs to us Well I must close for This time Rite soon to me yours [illegible] Sam H. Howette
