Restored Lucy a Sister of Colour who had been excommunica-ted for the sin of Adultery by professing to have repented for her Sin, also professing to have a hope that she was pardoned for the transgression. It is the mind of the Church that the above named member take non other Husband so long as her former Husband liveth. Dice [?] a Sister of Colour expelled for con-cealing stolen property, for falsehood, and for contradicting a white Sister. Recd. at the same time by experience + Baptised Matthew Strickland. --

Disappointed on account of the Association at Rocky Spring Johnson County.
November Meeting 1815
William Fowler informed the Church of his having a dispute with a man by the name of Masse and that he the said Fowler struck the sd. Masse with the Britch of his Gun layed over for further Consideration. At the same time a charge was brought against Jeffrey a brother of Colour, a servant of James Hinton, for running away amd disobeying his Master. At the same time recd. a Letter from the Church at Poplar Spring (Franklin Co.) requesting help to settle some difference which had arisen in the Poplar Spring Chuch. The Church therefore appointed Johnson Britt & Lott Ro-bertson to attend at Poplar Spring Meeting House in Franklin Co. in friday before the third Lords day in Decr. next to aid in settling the same.

11 December Meeting
Conference opened, the case of William Fowler taken up. The Chuch understanding that the said Fowler acted improper in staying at Muster until after night, and struck the aforesaid Massey with the Breach of his Gun, and disfigured his face without a sufficient cause, the sd. Fowler not making any confessions of sorrow or repentance was excommunicated from the fellowship of this Church

Excommunicated Jeffrey a Member of Colour, belonging to James Hinton, for running away and disobeying his Masters Orders. Excommunicated George a member of Colour for running away + disobeying his Masters Orders belonging to Edward Lee. At the same time brother Jesse Horton nominated to see brother Peyton Alford and [struck through: inquire of him the reason of] cite him to attend our next Meeting and give the Chuch his reason for his long absence from the Church. Brother Josiah Crudup Elder, brought an accusation against brother Horton Gay for lying.

12 May Meeting 1816.
Brother Gay appeared before the Church, and acknowl-edged the charge against him to be just, and professed Repen-tance and was forgiven. The case of Brother Peyton Alford was laid over until next Meeting, also the case of Lucy a Sister oc Colour laid over until next Meeting.
George a brother a Colour who had been expelld for running away, and disobedience to his Master, came forwd. and made acknowledgements to the Church for his disobedience and was restored to fellowship again.
June Meeting
The case of brother Peyton Alford taken up and laid over until next Meeting; but the Church agreed that brother Jesse Horton should go and see the sd. brother and know of him if it was his wish to obtain a letter of dismission from this Church and join the X Roads, or that the complaint brought against him should be acted on and to cite the sd. brother to attend at our next meeting of Conference on Saturday before the second Lords day in July next. The case of Lucy a Sister of Colour taken up and laid over until our next meeting for further considera-tion.

The Church in Conference: The Case of brother Peyton Alford taken up. Brother Jessee Horton reported to the Chuch that he had seen brother Alford, and he informed him that he did not wish to leave the Chuch at Hephsibah, and that he had been disappointed in attending our meetings by temporary concerns; and that brother Alford give him to understand that he would come to our quarterly Meeting in Augt. but fails to do so; the Church agreed to lay it over again until Septr. Meeting. the Pastor agreed

13 to go and see the sd. Alford and know the cause of his long absence. Brother Josiah Crudup + Jna [?] Parker were appointed Delegates to the next Association, and Johnson Britt in case of failure, and agreed that fifteen shillings be sent from this Church to the Association fnd, and that Johnson Britt prepare a letter to send to the Raleigh Association and return it to our next Meeting for inspection.
Dismissed by letter Sister Nancy Broadwell, bro. Urias Oneals and his Wife, brother Saml. High and his Wife. The Church appointed brother Cade Alford third Deacon.
The case of Lucy a Sister of Colour was then taken up and decided that she should not take to herself another Husband, so long as her former Husband liveth.
The accudation against Lucy for fornication was laid over until the next meeting.

The case of Lucy a sister of Colour, laid over for further consideration. Cretia a Sister of Colour, belonging to Col. Hinton petititioned for a Letter of dismission to join some other Church laid over for further consideration. Sister Quinny Shaw nomina-ted to see Sister Salle Wilder and ascertain the reason of her non attendance, and to cite the sd. Sister to attend our next Conference on Saturday before the second Lords day next, and for the aforesaid Sister Shaw to make report thereof.
