Wake County } concern: I John Purifoy
whose name is subjoined, being duly called, have examined
into the Character, the Calls, and qualifications of our beloved
brother John Parker, and with the consent of the Baptist
Church of Christ, at Hephzibah Meeting House, then
sitting in Conference, to which he belongs, and by Prayer, fas-
ting and imposition of hands, have set him apart to the
important work of the Ministry; he is hereby authorized
to enjoy all the privileges, and to perform all the duties at-
tached to the Ministerial Function, whenever he may be
called either occasionally, or statedly; given under my hand
this 28th day of Aug. 1823.
