June Meeting 1814 then did Lee wilder come forward that had been Excommunicated for Raising a false accusation against Johnson Britt and acknowledged before the Church and Congregation that he did believe what he had accused the afore Britt of was false and wished to be forgotten and taken into fellowship again, therefore the above named is forgivin and Restored to fellowship again---- At the same time a Brother of Culler [*(by the name of neezer)*] was Excommunicated for the sin of profane Swearing an is no longer a member of this Church

August Meeting 1814 Then Rec.d into fellowship By letter of dismission from the Rocky Spring Church of Christ Johnston County dixon Jordan and his wife at the same time Polly Jordan was Excommunicated for the sin of fornication and is no longer a member of this Church

September Meeting 1814 Then Recd into Fellowship Lucy [*dismised*] Alford and Martha Collins by experience and immersion at the same time it was agreed to by the Church that John Parker prepare a letter to send to the next association to be held at liberty meeting house Johnston County and that Twenty five shillings be sent to the association fund also that Lott Robertson and Rightmon Hillard two of our Respected Brethren be appointed delegates to the afore said association to bare this our letter and money there to at same time ordered that Johnson Britt get a bound blank book of two or three quires of paper to to keep the Church Records in and that the Church pay the aforesaid Britt for the Book when Recd by the Church

February meeting, 1815 Then was William Fowler that had been Expeld for the sin of Drunkinness Recd into fellowship again by Confessing his Error and Repentance at the same time it was mentiond by Rightm Hillard our Brother that a Brother Lee wilider by name had for a long time been absent from our meetings and aught to be considered therefore Rightman Hillard John Parker and Joseph Shaw three of our Respectd Brethren were appointed to go and see the aforesaid Brother wilder and talk with and Enquire into the state of his mind and to Cite him to attend at our [?] conference, and for the above committy to make Report there of accordingly it was also decided that the aforsaid member has been guilty of abusing his wife
March Meeting 1815 then did the above committy Report to the Church the in proceedings with the afore said Wilider and said that they went and talked with and Enquired into the state of his mind and they Reported further that the said wilder told them them her wa[*n*]ted to be Excluded from the Church But the Church thought proper to wait with him untile next meeting-- and nominate Cade alford and James Nowell to go and talk with [*him*] again and to try to soften him and to make Report at our next meetinf of their Proceedings Also this aforesaid Wiliders wife tolf the committy that her husband did abuse her

April meeting 1815 the member of Ephzibah in conferrence then did James Nowell Report to the church his proceedings with Lee wilder agreeable to his appartment as follows he asked the reason of his none attendance no satisfactory answer given. further asked if he did not wish to continue in the church---- Answer that it was his disire to be Excommunicated and that it was not his wish to be in any Church---- Therefore the aforesaid Wilider was Excommunicated for his none attendance for the sin of abusing his wife and for professing that it was his disire to be Expeld from the Church Therefore the said wilder is no longer a member of the Hephzibah Church----
at the same time it was Resolved by This church that where in any member was absent for two conference that there should be one or two members appointed to go and see the absent Member and to Enquire the Reason of their none attendance and to cite them to attend the next conference to answer for them selves
at the same time it was made know to this Church by our Brother cade alford that Peyton Alford has for sometime been absent from our meetings Therefore Amos Horton out Brother was appointed to go and See the aforesaid member to know the reason of his none attendance and to cite him to attend at our next meeting to answer for him self.

May Meeting 1815 the member in conference privilide given by the pastor for people to offer their Experience none offered ---- At the same time amos Horton our Brother that was appointed by the church to go[ur?] and Peyton alford one of the member of this Church maade his Report to the church conserning the absent Brother and said that he went and asked the above mentioned Brother therea-son of his none attendance-- answer was his wife was unwell and then cited the said Brother alford to attend conference at our yearly meeting But the aforesaid Brother did not attend, It being made known to the church that his wife had very lately lain in whic was satifactory to the church for the present----
at the same time a motions was made and Seconded and unannimously agree to by the church that the deacons of the Hephzibah Church should be Exempt from all Church Expences Except that of supporting the sacramental Table ---- also at the same time a Request was made to the church to let a singing school be kept in the meeting which was assented to by some of the members after debating on it for some time it was agreed to on conditions that the teacher would give his word to keep good order in and at the meeting house during the time of his schools continuance also that if there should be any damage done to the meeting [*(house of)*] any kind by his students or visitants the teacher should be answerable for the same ordered therefore that William Broadwel Henry Jordan and Johnson Brite see there to done in open conference Johnson Brite CLK

June Meeting 1815 no conference on the account of the Pastor absence
July Meeting 1815 none Rec.d At this meeting our Brother Burwell Bill from the [Rocid?] church Brought an allegation against William Fowler a member of this church for writing and publishing two letters which our Brother Bill thought was wrote to inger his Reputation after much debating on both sides our Brother Fowler acknowledged that his was wrong for writing such letters under such consideration the two Dissatisfyd appear be Reconciled with Each other and give the Right hand of fellowship and the matter was setled At the same time our Respectd Pastor said that he wantd be glad to know the mind of the Church Respecting the generel meeting viz provided that certain Clauses in the constitution was [*(made)*] more favourable wantd the church be in favour of it or not. it was agreed that the matter should be left to votes. the votes was taken on the male side first, which whas was 15 against the meeting and 7 for it in taking the female votes it found that there was a majority in favour of the general meeting.

August meeting 1815 ---- Then Recd into fellowship by Experience and Immersion Clary a servant of John Richardson ---- At the same time Rightmon Hillard ---- William Fowler + Johnson Britt were appointed by the church to take notice of disorderly people that visited the meeting in particular such as fetched spirits to sell if the did [*not*], dessist to cause the law to the put in forse against them, with all others that acted contrary to the laws of our country in time of publick worship ---- also at the same time John Parker and ---- Johnson Britt ware chosen as delegates to the next association it was agreed by the church that the sum of fifteen shillings be sent to the association fund and that Johnson Britt prepare a letter to send to the next association
September Meeting 1815 Then was Lucy as sister of couler Restored to fellowship tat had been Excommunicated for the sin of adultery by profesing to have Repented for her sin als professing to have a hope that She was pardon for her transgression N..B it is the mind of the church that the above named member take none other Husband so long as her former husband liveth at the same time a siste of couler by the name of dice was Expeld for consealing stoled property and for false[*hood*] and for contraidicting a white sister at the same time matthew Strickland [*did*] was Recd to Baptism by Expnce

October meeting 1815 disappointed on the account of the assosciation at Rocky Spring Johnston County
November Meeting 1815 then did william Fawler inform the Church of his having a dispute with a man by the name of masse and that he the said Fawler Struck the aforesaid masse with the brich of his gun this Business laid over untill december meeting for further consideration ---- At the same time a charge was brought against a brother of couler by the name of Jeffery for Runing away and disobeying his master. James Hinton ---- at the same time a charge was brought against another black brother belonging to Edward Lee for Runing away and disobeying his master ---- Also at the same time a letter was presented to this church from the popplar Spring Church in franklin county Requesting helps from this church to settle some differences that had arisen in the popplar spring church therefore we appoint Johnson Britt and Lott Robertson two of our Brethren to attend on friday before the third lords day in december next to answer the above Request

December 1815 Hephzibah church in conference the case of william Fowler taken up after debating on the case for time it was understood that the said fowler had acted improperly in staying at muster place till in the night and struck the afore stated masse with the Brack of his gun on the unclear nose, knocked him down and disfigured [*(massy said*] with out the said masse[*s*] Striking him the above named fowler persisted in the Justification of his own conduct and did not make satisfactory acknowledgements he is therefore Excommunicated from the fellowship of this church and no longer a member with us ----

March meeting, 1816 Then was Jeffry a Brother of Coulour belonging to James Hinton Excommunicated for Runing a way and disobeying his masters orders and is no longer a member of this Church ---- at the same time George a brother of coulour Servant of Edward Lee was Excommunicated for Runing away and disobeying his master and is no longer a member of this Church ---- At the same meeting Bro. Jesse horton was nominated to go and Request Bro. Peyton Alford to come and See us at our mext meeting and tell us the Reason why he has not been to see [*us*] is so long a time

April meeting, 1816 Elder Crudup Brought an accusation against Brother Horton Gay for lying.
May Meeting 1816 Brother Gay came before the Church acknowledged has the Charge Brought against him was a just one But Professed Repentance and was forgiven
may meeting continued the case of Bro Peyton Alford Calld for and laid over untill our next meeting also the case of lucy a sister of Color laid over untill our mext meeting - ---- George a Brother of coulour that was Expeld for Runing away and disobedience to his master Came forward and made Acknowledgement for his disobedience and was Restord to fellowship again
June meeting 1816, the ease of Bro P. Alford taken up and pospond until next meeting But agreed to by the Church that our Bro Jesse Horton should go and see our Bro Peyton Alford of know of him whether it is his wish to [*take*] a letter of dismission from this church and Join the Church at the + Roads, as that the complaint Brought against him should be acted on and to cite the said Brother to attend at our next Conference on Saturday before the second lords day in July next

July meeting 1816 disappointed on the account of the Pastors none attindance
August meeting 1816, Church in conference of the case of Bro P. Alford taken up our Bro Jesse Horton made his report conserning the aforesaid Brother and stated that Bro P Alfrod said he did not wish to leave the church at hisphzibah and that he had been disappointed in attending our meeting by some temporary consern Bro horton further state that Br.o Alford give him to understand that he would come to our quarterly meeting in august But did not come the Chuch agreed to lay the case over again untill Septr meeting the pastor agreed to go and see the aforesaid Br.o to know the cause of his none attendance Also the Church Proceeded to chose her delegates for the next association Brethren Crudup and Parker ware Chosen and Johnson Britt in case of failure agreed that the sum of fifteen shillings be sent from this Church to the association fund and that Johnson Britt Prepare a letter to send to the Raleigh association and fetch it forward to our next meeting for inspection.

September meeting 1816 the case of our Br.o Peyton Alford taken up and laid over untill next meeting for further consideration our Brother Cade Alford Accepted the appointment of 3rd deacon The case of Lucy a sister of coulour taken up and laid over untill next meeting for a further consideration ---- Cretia a sister of coulour [*(belonging to Colon Hinton)*] this day petiond for a letter of dismission to join some other Church not granted but laid over for further consideration It is the mind of the Church that our Sister Quinny Shaw should go and see our Sister Sally wilder wife of Lee wilder and know the Reason of her long absence from the Church and to cite the aforesaid sister wilder to come to our next conference to be held on the saturday before the second lords day in november next and for the aforesaid Sister Quinny to make Report accordingly
